(NEWS CENTER) -- Obama makes it a clean sweep this weekend adding Maine to his list of victories.
The party is also reporting record turnout. The previous record of 17,000 voters is already broken. Maine Democratic Party Executive Director Arden Manning says 27,607 people have come out, and the party has not heard from Portland, where the lines were especially long.
Democrats in 420 Maine towns and cities turned out in heavy numbers despite snow squalls and slippery roads to decide how the state's 24 delegates will be allotted at the party's national convention in August.
With 70 percent of the state's participating precincts reporting, Obama leads Hillary Rodham Clinton with 1,564 to 1,122 delegates to the state convention, with 17 uncommitted.
Maine's voting comes a day after Obama and Clinton made personal appeals in Maine, and after Obama picked up wins in Louisiana, Nebraska and Washington.
